Graphical design with SHERLOCK (1 day)

SHERLOCK from Teledyne DALSA is a user-friendly machine vision software interface that can be applied to a wide variety of automated inspection applications. It offers maximum development flexibility and a rich suite of proven tools and features that have been deployed in thousands of installations worldwide.

With the flexible software, a wide variety of applications with area scan cameras, line scan cameras or 3D profile sensors can be created graphically via drag&drop and script. The graphical development environment offers a wide range of useful tools and functions such as measurement or colour tools, tools for image analysis or for checking, positioning, and reading, as well as the most diverse pre-processors and flexible area and line ROI.

Training content
  • Image capture and handling multiple image windows

  • Scaling and calibration of image data

  • Tracking and dynamic recalculation of inspection areas

  • Introduction to tools (measurement, text recognition (OCR), object search, code recognition, colour inspection, contour measurement, blob analysis)

  • Communication with external units (e.g. PLC)

  • Creation of sample applications including image acquisition, calibration, positioning, evaluation, communication

  • Creation of log files and storage of images
