Inspection task

Here you define the actual inspection task. We tried to group different tasks. Frequently several inspections are needed, thus we ask you to choose the application you consider "most difficult" or most important. In addition we added certain categories for some tasks. These are needed to better price multiple tasks in one system.

Field of view

What is the maximum length of the area to be captured or what is the largest object? In which area do you want to find the object? Based on this information, we select the appropriate optical system (camera, lens) for your task. Prices can vary considerably depending on the required resolution of the camera.


Relevant here are the dimensions of the smallest feature (bar of a barcode, smallest defect to be detected) that you want to robustly detect/which you just want to detect. In conjunction with the field of view, the resolution of the camera is determined and the appropriate lenses are selected.

Inspection rate

How many parts per second should the system inspect? The selection of the appropriate hardware (cameras, PC) depends largely on the inspection speed in combination with the resolution.

Standstill or in motion

Can the objects be captured at a standstill or do the parts move past the optical system at a constant speed (e.g. on a belt)? In case of moving parts, the camera and possibly the flash controller must be designed accordingly.

Data exchange

Communication with your internal system can take place in different ways. Data exchange via TCP/IP with the control system or other software is the simplest solution and turns your machine vision system into a network-compatible device in the sense of the Internet of Things (Industry 4.0). Alternatively, we also deliver digital I/O signals that output a pass/fail result or more complex bit values. Of course we can also use one of the common fieldbus systems, such as OPC/UA, ProfiNet, DeviceNet, EtherCat, Modbus, etc. We always adapt development and interfaces according to your requirements.

User interface / HMI

Our simple viewer offers the possibility to configure global settings at the  start and visualises results such as all images and the measured, read, found objects/values as well as possible errors or deviations between target/actual values. Any further control or configuration or job changes as well as treshold values are set via config files or a controller (see also "data exchange"). We are happy to create customised interactive GUIs that can be operated during runtime, also in combination with a control system. Reports, any visualisations, zooms or other desired functions are also possible. But is has to be noted that customised, interactive GUIs are much more complex than our standard visualisation.


All components are CE-compliant. Our standard documentation explains the system components and how the system works, and describes possible input/output values and their characteristics. Our systems are often installed by our customers in a machine/test system, which again receives its own complete documentation and risk assessment. If the system is to be used as a stand-alone final product, an individual risk assessment and documentation is required once.

User administration

Our standard system provides a simple password administration for changes. If you need a multi-level user administration with different rights for different settings and views, we will be happy to adapt the user administration to your needs.

Logging images and data

By default, we output the image processing results directly without storing them. Errors are only visualised or transfered to the control system. Sometimes, however, it is necessary for error detection, for later developments, for statistical purposes or for subsequent systems that measured values and images are saved in order to be able to retrieve them later. For this purpose, we offer extended, customer-specific logging options.

Installation and training

In order to keep the system cost-effective, we offer to run the system acceptance test at our premises in Puchheim. This naturally includes intensive training and the handover of all components. We are also happy to install your system directly in your machine on site after prior consultation regarding dimensions, positioning and interfaces. In this case, an additional charge for the organisational effort as well as the travelling and time required for the journey, will be added. Please note that no further mechanical components for installation of the optical system or for the transport of your objects are included in this integration calculation.
