This is how phil-vision was born. Not from a business plan, but from pure passion for machine vision and the courage to build something real.

Portugal, 2010. Gregor Philipiak had an idea already, but put it aside for something that seemed more exciting at the time: a soccer tracking project. Fast-forward to 2015, and that project suddenly ended. But sometimes endings are just disguised beginnings.

Standing at that crossroads, one thing became crystal clear: the machine vision industry was hungry for true system integrators. Companies didn't just need components; they needed partners who could see the bigger picture. So, in November 2015: phil-vision was born as Gregor's one-man mission. But the best visions are shared visions. Patrick, a longtime friend equally passionate about machine vision, was also looking for something new, tired of just talking about components and ready to build real solutions.

2017 marked our evolution into phil-vision GmbH. Two friends united by a simple belief: machine vision isn't just technology. It's the perfect combination of camera technology, optics, lighting, software, and mechanics. It's complexity made elegant.
